Broad-leaved arrowhead
(Sagittaria latifolia)

There are 16 species of arrowheads in Northeastern/North Central North America. The broad-leaved arrowhead is the most common of the species.

Large arrow-shaped leaves and clusters of white three-petaled flowers forming on a single tall stalk identify the plant.

The tuberous root provides food for muskrats and was used by Native Americans as part of their diet.
